5 Examples of Video-based Learning for Training your Employees

Videos have proven to be an effective method of learning new concepts and training in new skills. If you use the right tools and technologies and implement them properly, video-based learning solutions significantly impact learners’ minds. It helps them on how to fix time management issues and how to improve time management skills.        

Example 3: Use Videos to Provide Process Training to Employees

A process is a series of actions or steps taken to achieve a particular result. Processes are an integral part of many industries like the computers, electronics, pharmaceuticals, petrochemical, etc. You can effectively use video-based learning to provide process training to your employees.

This is a 4-minute short video about understanding the drug discovery process in the pharmaceutical industry. The company wants to roll out short video-based learning modules to their employees on the concept of timelines in the drug discovery process. They want to sensitize their employees on the need to maintain strict timelines during the discovery-test-adoption process. This short video covers the important elements of the process.

The video-based learning has been provided to the employees in the preliminary stage to give them a broader understanding of the drug discovery process followed in the company. Then, the employees had taken up the actual full-length course on the drug discovery process, which included interesting activities, gamification elements, and real-life scenarios. The video received a good response from employees. This is a suitable example of video-based learning, in which you can provide any other type of training to your employees, like process training.

Example 4: Use Interactive Videos for Skill Training with Immersive Experience

Interactive videos give the learners the ability to interact with the video content. You can integrate several functionalities with an interactive video, such as hotspots, tabs, buttons, 360-degree panoramic views, input data fields, drag and drop options, etc. You can effectively use interactive videos to provide specific skill training to your employees. Clickable buttons or images can take the learners to a separate video or document, thus providing more relevant information. Interactive videos provide more fun and engaging experience to the learners, making the training content more interesting, memorable, and enjoyable.

In this interactive video, first, the video takes the learner to the office premises of ABC company. Here, the learner can pause the video and interact with the video content. The learner can view a 360-degree panoramic view of the office premises, play the video on the wall tv image to know more about the company, learn about the history and how the company had developed over the years by clicking on the road map, and view skills training videos of 2- to 3-minute duration on industrial technology, consumer goods, etc.      

Example 5: Embed Videos Within the Main Course

You can embed short videos at the relevant places as part of the main eLearning or mobile learning course. The learner can click on the videos and learn a specific skill related to the main topic or concept.

This is a one and a half minutes video on unethical behavior at the workplace. This scenario in the video has been developed with animated characters, graphics, and images, depicting the real-life scenario at the workplace. This is a part of the “Ethics at Workplace” training course on ethical and unethical behavior at the workplace, which has various activities and gamification elements.
